Kartoza is based in South Africa with an international team based in South Africa, Indonesia and France. We specialize in building QGIS Plugins, geospatial applications for the web (based on GeoDjango) and integrating various packages from the OSGEO/FOSS development stack to build solutions for our clients. We are also core contributors to the QGIS project (where Tim Sutton additionally serves as the QGIS Project Chair), participants in the QGIS.ZA South African QGIS User Group (where Admire Nyakudya server as the user group chair) and have actively participate in the activities of OSGE (Gavin Fleming was LOC Chair for FOSS4G 2008 in Cape Town).
We provide a global service to individuals, companies and governments around the world who are looking to leverage the power of the Free Software movement to solve geospatial problems. We work in the humanitarian space (clients: HOT, DFAT, WorldBank/GFDRR), aerospace (client: SANSA), precision farming (clients: Agritechnovation, MySmartFarm), education (clients: CPUT, University of Venda) and do many other projects which leverage the power and utility of Free and Open Source Software to build solutions for our clients.
