Biography
Adam J. Stewart’s research interests lie at the intersection of machine learning and Earth science, especially remote sensing. He is the creator and lead developer of the popular TorchGeo library (https://github.com/microsoft/torchgeo), a PyTorch domain library for working with geospatial data and satellite imagery. His current research focuses on building foundation models for multispectral imagery. He received his B.S. from the Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences at Cornell University and his Ph.D. from the Department of Computer Science at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. He currently works as a postdoctoral researcher at the Technical University of Munich under the guidance of Prof. Xiaoxiang Zhu.
