Biography
Olaf is founder and CEO of WhereGroup GmbH, Germany.
He studied Geography in Dusseldorf and Bonn and specialised in soil science and site remediation. After his graduation in 1998 he worked as an environmental expert and later founded the GIS service company KARTA.GO. In 2007 the companies KARTA.GO and CCGIS merged to WhereGroup, one of the biggest open source GIS service providers in Europe. Olaf works with FOSSGIS software for over 15 years and is chair of the OSGeo project Mapbender. He likes traditional archery and sailing.
