Biography
Helena is a Professor at the Department of Marine, Earth and Atmospheric Sciences and a faculty fellow at the Center for Geospatial Analytics, North Carolina State University in Raleigh. She has participated in the GRASS GIS development since 1991 and co-authored the first book on GRASS GIS. She has developed methods and techniques for spatial interpolation, terrain analysis, geospatial modeling and visualization. She is a member of editorial boards for Geomorphology and Computers & Geosciences and has published over 100 publications demonstrating applications of GRASS GIS. She received her PhD from the Slovak Technical University, Bratislava, Slovakia.
