Mapbender version 4.0.0 released 2024-06-26

The new version is a major release with numerous new features, a revised design and bug fixes.
Existing Mapbender installations can be updated to version 4.0.0 without any problems.

The built package can be found at [1] and the version 4.0.0 tag at [2].

Docker

Docker integration has been added see PR125 [6]. The Mapbender project now also provides dockerHub images [7].

The documentation is also currently being updated to version 4. It can be found at [9].

Switching to the new version

PHP 8.1 is now the oldest supported PHP version. PHP 8.2 and PHP 8.3 are fully supported.
An update from 3.3.x to version 4.0.0 is possible. However, there are a few steps to follow.
It is therefore essential that you read the document UPGRADING.md [10].

The migration guide in the documentation contains additional information on updating to new versions [11]
